7 steps how to do keyword research

Diposting oleh Admin on Kamis, 09 Juni 2011

Doing proper keyword research is vital and should be your first step to building a strong foundation for your search engine optimization or any of your online marketing because if you get this step wrong, everything else you do later on can come crashing down around you.
Proper keyword research can be broken down into seven simple steps or phases
Brainstorming Phase:
The brainstorming phase can be described as the step where you identify your perfect audience and then properly survey your perfect audience to identify the specific keywords and keyword phrases that they will be using to search for the products or services that you offer on your website.
Categorizing Phase:
During the categorizing phase, we will break down our keywords and keyword phrases into specific themes. Examples could be specific products or model numbers of products that your customers are searching for. Or perhaps the problems or concerns that your customers are looking for you to solve.
Keyword Research Phase:
Typically allot of Internet Marketers jump right into this phase of the process of keyword research by firing up some new fancy keyword research tool without having any clue who they are speaking too and what message they should be presenting to their audience, thus they fail.
And as there are allot of keyword research tools out there in the market, some free and some that have a subscription, we are often asked which tool we would recommend.
Well that depends and I’ll explain it this way.
Just as an auto mechanic has various tools in his toolbox that he can choose from to do his job properly, to be successful online you should have a toolbox complete with the proper tools to do your job right. Now I am not saying that you should go out and buy every new SEO tool that comes down the road, no!
What I am saying that as you progress in your journey and learn SEO and Keyword Research with us, we will point out the various features of the various keyword tools that we will be teaching you. If you find that a certain feature of a certain tool fits your needs, then add it to your toolbox. If it doesn’t fit your needs then simply move on.
During your SEO Training you will also discover that many of the free tools that we will be sharing with you also have the same, if not better features of some of the paid tools.
Review Phase:
In the review phase we will be compiling our lists of keywords into a spreadsheet then sorting them, categorizing them based upon the level of search, the competitiveness level and the relevancy to your website.
You’ll discover in this phase that many of the keywords that had come up in your brainstorming or through your keyword research just are not worth the time or effort in targeting because they may not have enough search volume, or that no one searching for them, or the competition for those words is through the roof and that are more profitable long tail keywords that you could target instead.
Selection Phase:
After you whittled away at your keyword list in the review phase, you will often still find yourself with a list of hundreds, if not thousands of keywords that you have to choose from, that is why many Internet Marketers say that this fifth phase is one of the hardest for them to master.
Well it really shouldn’t be once you understand a few key issues;
First off you’re probably realizing the fact that there aren’t enough hours in a day, let alone a month, to properly optimize your website for all the keywords that you have on your list.
Therefore make it easy on yourself, remember my rule of five.
5 keywords = 5 articles + five hours a week
What I mean by this is that for each keyword that you will be initially optimizing your website for you should be writing a minimum of one article a week for your website and spending at least an one hour a week obtaining onsite links and off site links to that page.
Now I understand that some keywords will be harder for you to optimize for then others, that is why I also recommend that you include a couple root keywords for your long term investment along with a few long tail keywords that you can quickly optimize for that hopefully will start paying out in the short term.
As your long tail begin paying you the dividends that you’re happy with then consider replacing these with some new long tail keyword phrases, while still working on those main root keywords as your long term commitment.
Test Phase:
This is often the most overlooked phase by even the most seasoned Internet Marketers.
Before you go out and break your back and spend hundreds of hours doing SEO for your website, wouldn’t it be nice to know that the product or service that you’re promoting will actually convert and make you money?
Through a Pay Per Click you can quickly launch a campaign using the keywords that you selected and if you making money or just breaking even, then you will know that it is worth your investment in moving forward.
However, if find that you’re not making any sales or conversions then it wise to re-evaluate the keywords that you have selected and/or to focus on the conversion factors on your website.
Repeat Phase:
As you travel in your journey to operating a successful online business you will want to remember that common phrase written on shampoo bottles” wash, rinse, repeat” in that as long as you’re marketing your business, these same set of instructions used to wash your hair should also be applied to any facet of online marketing that makes you successful.
Review:
Lets again quickly review these 7 simple, but powerful phases of keyword research that we will be covering with you in this chapter of your SEO Roadmap Video Training Series.
  1. Brainstorming – Identifying your perfect audience and the keywords they would use
  2. Categorizing – We will then categorize these keywords into specific topic areas
  3. Keyword Research – We will use the various keyword tools such as the Google Keyword tool, Insights for search, the Google Wonder Wheel, Market Samuari, Word Tracker and SpyFu and save the data into a spread sheet
  4. Review- We will then review the various keywords and then sort them on the volume of search, the competitiveness and remove keywords from our list that may not have enough search volume, are just too competitive, or are just not relevant for our website
  5. Select – We will then go through our list and based upon the rule of 5, select the keywords that we would want to target in the launch of our new campaign
  6. Test – We will then test the keywords for conversion using PPC to make sure that they can make us money, before we start our SEO campaign
  7. Wash, Rinse, And Repeat.

5 Quick Ways to Find Blog Post Ideas

Diposting oleh Admin on Rabu, 01 Juni 2011

Quickly coming up with blog post ideas can be a frustrating exercise, but it doesn’t have to be.
What I try to do is have several good blog post ideas on hand all the time. Once you get behind the curve on ideas that’s when you’ll start wasting time and get frustrated.
My WordPress rough drafts section can have as many as 50 post at one time sitting there waiting for me to put the finishing touches on them.
Getting those ideas means always being on the lookout and jotting them down when I think of them. Even if I just get the title into the draft, that can be a pretty good start to writing my post.
But first let’s find out how to quickly get those blog post ideas rolling :-)

If you’re in tune to your target market and what interests them, then it’s just a matter of finding ideas and presenting them creatively, which we’ll talk about in my next post.
But for today here are 5 quick ways I use to find blog posts and a few quick bonus reference ideas at the end.
1.  Use Google Alerts
Google’s great for helping me find ideas. You can do a Google search or have a look on Google News but I think a much easier and faster way is to use Google Alerts.
Start by making a list of your blog’s categories. Next, go to Google Alerts and use those category titles as search terms for the Alerts.
For example, let’s say you have a weight loss for women blog and your categories are:
- Weight loss pills
- weight loss diet plans
- weight loss tips
- weight loss Exercise
Next, type in the keyword phrase for each category into Google Alerts and complete the requested parameters:

  • Type – This is your choice but I want all the ideas I can get so I choose ‘All’
  • How often – I like ‘As it happens’
  • Volume – I prefer ‘only the best results’
  • Your email address
Delivered to your email inbox will be everything as it happens in Google for that keyword phrase. This will give you ideas, news and blog posts related to your keywords.
This is a great way to get information delivered directly to you without spending your own time searching. I’ve even used these alerts to find some excellent blog posts that I can comment on.
2.  Ask Your Readers
If you have your own opt-in email list, and you should, you can easily create a follow-up email that simply asks each reader what they most want to know, or you can create a free survey using surveymonkey.com. It’s super simple to set up. Just follow the directions.
Once you have your survey set up, add it to your autoresponder as a follow-up email and you’re done. As each subscriber signs-up, they’ll get your email asking them your question. Soon you’ll start seeing responses come in that you can create blog posts around.
I’ve gotten tons of good information this way on a steady basis. Many people are so anxious to find quality, candid information they’re happy to talk about what their problems are and what they most want to know.
3. Use your Competitors for Ideas
Take a minute and find popular blogs that compete with yours. To easily find those blogs, use this command:
site:.com inurl:blog “YOUR KEYWORDS”
This command will find all .com blogs that have your keyword phrase in the title and/or description. You can substitute .com for .org, .net or whatever suffix you want.
Next, if you don’t already have one, create an account on feedreader.com, it’s free. Once you are set up, add the news feed of each blog to Feedreader.
Now each day when you log into Feedreader you’ll see the latest blog posts for your chosen blogs.
The blog posts that get your attention are probably great ideas for posts you can write yourself. You can create a whole new post of your own on the ideas you see in other blogs, or you can simply comment on already existing posts. If you’re commenting on their post, don’t’ forget to include a link to it.

4. Get Help From The Pro’s

There are 2 places I use regularly to help me get ideas for blog posts. I use them because they post information that people read, so I frequently find great ideas.
Alltop - This blogging site features all the top stories from all the best blogs for just about any niche. Just type a keyword into the search box and you’ll find related blogs and their latest blog posts. From there you’ll get tons of blog post ideas that you can write about.
Technorati - You won’t find as much detail on Technorati as Alltop but their directory will help you find blogs of interest so that you can view their posts for ideas.

5. No Time to Spare? Use These Quick Reference Ideas
If you’re still struggling with ideas, here are a few quick things you can do in a pinch:
  • Tell a personal story about your blogging experiences.
  • Find the best posts from other blogs in your niche and then create a ‘Best Of’ list.
  • Create a list of WordPress plugins that you use or that other bloggers in your topic use.
  • Do a small video of your home office. People would love to know what your personal office looks like.

    Strategies to drive traffic using twitter

    Diposting oleh Admin on Selasa, 24 Mei 2011

    If you are thinking of using the social media to promote and drive more traffic to your website and blogs then twitter is one of the options that you could rely on and make the best use of your tweets and retweets.
    Discussed here are some of the best ways to promote traffic to your website using twitter:

    Follow people
    In twitter you do not add friends but follow people and in turn they will follow you. When you are trying to follow people follow those whom you know and then through them follow many more new people and also you can follow groups who are related to your business.

    Use Twitter Search
    Do a relevant twitter search choosing appropriate keywords and follow all the people who are in your niche and you will find more people in your business sector and you can get to know how your competitors are performing well by following them and finding different solutions.

    Keep Tweeting
    When The thumb rule is to keep tweeting, this mean not tweet 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, do so only one or two hours in a day to begin with and later on following your tweet build up, tweet once or twice in a week and so on depending on your business and the purpose you tweet for. If you are tweeting only for business, you will not be able to drive much traffic to your website and blog if you are small business owner a simple idea that works well is to tweet only two out of five tweets in a day about your business, and the rest are about related and interesting informative topics. Spend your time on choosing these tweets and you will find traffic to your website increasing considerably.

    Complete your bio
    Research shows that Tweeps (jargon for Twitter users) who have a complete bio, including a personal profile picture (not an icon!), a location, and a short blurb about themselves have eight times more followers than those who don’t. They are also 15 times more likely to have power followers, or Tweeps with a high Twitter Grade. You are limited to 160 characters for your Twitter bio, so make every word count. Write about your interests and hobbies but don’t use it to promote your company or product. Make sure to include a link to your website. Twitter users who have done so are 22 times more likely to have power followers.

    Get followers using Tweepi:
    Once you have established a number of Tweeps whose Tweets you can enjoy, you can leverage their Twitter follower base to add to yours using Tweepi’s Geeky Follow tool. Simply enter the screen

    Automate your tweets
    Tweeting is extremely addictive and if you’re not careful, it could take over your life. Fortunately, many Twitter applications, both paid and free, have been launched that allow Tweeps to schedule their tweets in the future and even automate their tweets. This allows you to Tweet interesting links to your followers and drive more traffic to your website even when you’re asleep. Sites like Hootsuite, TweetAdder and SocialOomph are good places to start.

    Share your personality

    Don’t just bombard your Twitter followers with a constant stream of links. Mix it up with tweets about your activities, your interests, and maybe even some quotes that you find intriguing. The point is to let your followers know that there is a real person behind the Twitter account, not simply an automated bot that constantly recycles tweets about your content.

    Build friendships

    Connecting with your followers is a great way to increase traffic to your website. Reply to their tweets, retweet their tweets, and generally socialize with your new Twitter friends. Having a good retweeting buddy means that you can access your buddy’s follower base as well, thus widening your message’s reach. Always thank someone who retweets your links and return the favor. Also, don’t forget to give a Follow Friday shoutout to your new Twitter buddies.

    Use hashtags
    Using hashtags in Twitter are like using tags on Flickr or adding categories to your blog. It adds an extra layer of data to your tweets, where users can simply click on the hashtag to see a list of tweets that also include that hashtag. To add a hashtag, simply include the “#” symbol before a keyword. Don’t forget to use CamelCase. For example, tweet “#NewYork” instead of “#New York.” However, Twitter etiquette dictates that you should use hashtags sparingly, so never use more than three or four hashtags in a single tweet.

    12 Things You Should NOT Do In Blogging

    Diposting oleh Admin

    do not read this sign e1304613583424 8 Things That You Should NOT Do In Blogging
    If you are blogging then you will have one aim in common with other bloggers, more traffic, more traffic and more traffic. This is not at all as there are millions of people around the world to read your blog and this not going to be a very competent job for you if you know these 8 things that should not be done in blogging.Here we go,

    Do Not Expect Success Without Promoting

    Do not expect success without promoting as you have to go to the readers and do not expect the readers to find your great contents. Submit your articles to article directories where people will find you and use hyperlinks to let them know more about you and your blog when they are reading these articles. There are umpteen numbers of things that you can do to promote you and your blogs.

    Avoid time lags between your posts

    It is very important that you publish your posts in time and therefore do not stop posting regularly. Even if you are not able to post regularly on a daily basis, post once in a week, once in a month or once in a fortnight. Make it a habit as even you can schedule posts in platforms like wordpress.

    Do not have too many advertisements on your blog

    When you are placing ads, place them either on the side of the posts or on the top or the bottom of the posts. Too many ads are like too many cooks who will spoil your posts and not the broth this time. Cluttering with ads will irritate potential readers and make them leave easily.

    Don’t Be Anonymous

    Write an useful About me or About us page, which will tell your readers more about you like who you are and how qualified you are as a blogger and in the topic you have written. If you are an expertise on a specific area of interest then your blog will be unique and interesting.

    Do not fill your blogs with hodgepodge information

    Write a more meaningful and informative blogpost, which means that even if you write a post of 500 words it should be filled with information and a SE optimized one.

    Don’t forget to proof read

    Whatever you write on the blog is going to be there forever, even after you die, so is better to proof read your blogposts.

    Don’t forget to link

    Link to your posts and the sources of information, as giving the due credit will not only authenticate the information on your blogs but also will bring in more traffic when you back link your posts to your and others posts on similar topics.
    Praveen is associated with a webhosting company which has a very good website hosting reviews

    Do Not Expect Overnight Results

    Blogging is not a means of making overnight results, and you cannot make money with one or two posts to make some good money. You need to work initially until you establish your blog, and once established there is room for everyone. If you had been thinking blogging as a bed of roses, then you are wrong. You have the thickets of thorns to reach that level in blogging.

    Respect Other Bloggers

    As mentioned elsewhere, there is room for everyone in the world of blogging, this is important that you work hard and smart causing no harm to your fellow bloggers. You need not try to find faults to establish yourself, and all you need to do is work mutually with your fellow blogger or a blogger who is on the top in your niche. Work on your niche and do not lose your reputation by being a bad blogger by stealing your fellow bloggers information.

    Do Not Fail To Update Your Blog Regularly

    This is a good habit to update your blog on a daily basis, but this is not possible always. You can keep a schedule to update your blogs, like once in two days, once in a week, or in a month. But see that you update the blog regularly and systematically with good quality work at the least until you establish yourself. Once you build your reputation, try to maintain that if you are finding this hard to go higher, as in the blogging world there is no end on the top.

    You Must Not Ignore Your Readers

    If you are blogging as a career, then your readers are your assets, and you need to do the needful by providing interesting information to your readers and write interestingly to keep them engaged. Write interestingly, differently and show your dedication in your writing. Happy and satisfied reader and visitors will turn into your regular visitors of your blogs thereby increasing the traffic. Write more about what your readers want.

    Do Not Ignore Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

    Many bloggers do not even know what SEO is. Learn more about offline and online SEO and see that if your blogs are SEO optimized for most of the prominent search engines, and especially if you could get them optimized for search engines like Google and Yahoo, then you will find your blog getting popular and bigger.

    SEO Tips for Blogger Blogs

    Diposting oleh Admin

    After reading this article you will come to know that which are the things you need to perform SEO for Blogger Blogs , This Complete Guideline is just for blogger blogs. Read this post very slowly and concentrate on the code portions where you need to do change in your XML (Layout > Edit HTML) code to accomplish our SEO for blogger Users. Below is the step by step procedure for doing that.

    Page Title

    SEO for Blogger - Page Title

    Standard page title for a single Blogger post is BLOG TITLE: POST TITLE. You can improve SEO by changing the title tags to POST TITLE | BLOG TITLE. Find this code in your XML template,

<data:blog.pageTitle/>

    replace with this code,

    <b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'>

<data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/>

    <b:else/>

<data:blog.pageTitle/>

    </b:if>

    Meta Keywords and Description

    SEO for Blogger - Meta Keywords

    Some blogger expert have written tutorials about how to add meta keywords and description. It is very easy, you need to add this code after title tag above or before <b:skin>/*

    Example:

    But, this code add same meta keywords & description to all posts. It is not good because you will find a warning at Google Webmaster Tools because duplicate meta keywords & description are detected. So, it is better if you only add meta keywords & description to the homepage. For example, you can add this code,

    <b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'>

    </b:if>

    Header Title

    SEO for Blogger - Heading Title

    Heading Tag (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5) is also important for SEO. All of Blogger widgets (gadgets) title use H2 tags. But, Minima Template use H3 tag for post title and many blogger templates use H2 tag for post title. To improve SEO, you need to use H1 tag for post title. For example, find this code,

    <b:if cond='data:post.title'>

    <b:if cond='data:post.link'>
    <data:post.title/>
    <b:else/>
    <b:if cond='data:post.url'>
    <data:post.title/>
    <b:else/>
    <data:post.title/>
    </b:if>
    </b:if>

    </b:if>

    his example shows that your template use H3 tag for post title (If you don't find it, your template may use H2 tag for post title). Replace H3 (or H2) at this code with H1, for example,

    <b:if cond='data:post.title'>

    <b:if cond='data:post.link'>
    <data:post.title/>
    <b:else/>
    <b:if cond='data:post.url'>
    <data:post.title/>
    <b:else/>
    <data:post.title/>
    </b:if>
    </b:if>

    </b:if>

    And you need to change post title font size by adding this code before </b:skin>
    h1.post-title, .post h1 #Blog1 h1, #Blog2 h1 { font-size:1.5em; }
    For example, i use 1.5em font size. You can change it if you want.

    Things to know when start blogging

    Diposting oleh Admin

    Over these years I made many mistakes and figured some things out. Now I wanna share it with you.

    Write for readers, not write for yourself

    If you are blogging as a hobby, then writing about whatever you feel like is fine. If you are trying to build a popular blog and to eventually make money with it, however, you need to be more conscious about the type of content you’ll publish.
    More specifically you need to understand that your content should be appealing and interesting to your readers above all, and not to yourself. It’s about them, and not about you.

    About Domain name

    When I started blogging I didn’t pay much attention to the domains of my blogs. As a result I ended up with some long and boring domains. This is a big mistake because the domain is one of the few factors you won’t be able to change.
    The rule of thumb I use these days is to look for domains with two words, branding potential and a .com extension.

    Quality is more important than quantity

    As you can guess by the name of this blog, I have always been a big fan of quantity when it comes to content creation. Over the years, however, my opinion has changed a bit.
    I still believe that you need to update your blog regularly if you want it to be come popular, but quality should be your first priority. If you only have two hours to spend writing content every week, for example, I would recommend you to spend all the time writing a single, high quality post, instead of writing four small posts to be published on different days.

    You need a community around your blog

    Apart from writing quality content and promoting that content, there is one more activity that is very important for your blog, and that is community building. It’s important because without a community your blog will not be a blog, but rather a website with some articles.
    Your community will enrich your content (through comments and email feedback), keep you motivated, help to promote your blog by spreading the word and so on.
    Practically speaking this means that you should engage your readers with your content (e.g., by using polls, surveys, asking questions and so on), and that you should interact with them as often as possible (e.g., via comments, email, Twitter and so on).

    Having an email list is essential

    When I started, around 2 years ago, I didn’t know what email marketing was. Recently, I started joining the email list of other marketers, but until then I had not considered building my own.
    It was a big mistake.
    A responsive email list is one of the most valuable assets you can have. And mind you that you won’t be using it to spam people, but rather to deliver quality content that will solidify your relationship with your subscribers.

    You need to think about the business model

    If you want to make money with your blog, you need to start thinking about your business model right away. That is, you need to have an idea or a plan regarding how you’ll produce value, and how you are going to get paid for that.
    Having this clear in your mind will help you craft your content, target the right readers, design your blog around your goals and so on.

    Selling ads is not the best business model

    When people start blogging they believe that the best, if not the only way to make money with it is by selling ads. This is not true.
    Selling ads might be the easiest way to make money with a blog, but it’s definitely not the most profitable one.
    On most niches selling your own product will be the most profitable model you can have, followed by selling other people’s products (i.e., affiliate marketing), so make sure to consider these at least.

    Checking your stats daily is pointless

    When you build your first website or blog you start checking your stats at least daily (some people go further and check them hourly….). Every new visitor is a joy, and a sign that you are doing something right.
    The problem with this is that you are wasting time. Every minute you spending checking your stats is one fewer minute you have to work on actually get more visitors. On top of that daily fluctuations might give you the wrong idea of what is going on.
    My advice would be to check your stats monthly.

    It takes persistence

    Everything happens really fast on the Internet, and when you start building your first websites you figure that they will sky rocket (both in terms of traffic and revenues) within a couple of months.
    The reality is quite the opposite. While it’s possible, very few websites become popular or profitable before one or two years. If you want to play the game, therefore, come with the right expectations, else you’ll get frustrated and quit too soon.

    Choosing the right niche is important

    Choosing the right niche is critical if you want your blog to become popular and profitable. Sure, you should follow your passion (as you probably heard around…), but you should also make sure your niche is big enough to generate the kind of revenues you are aiming for.
    Also remember that some niches will always be more profitable than others, regardless of their sizes. That is because people inside those niches actually buy stuff, so money circulates more freely.

    Learning the technical part helps a lot

    The Internet technology has advanced so much that today anyone can build a blog or website in 5 minutes, with no technical knowledge whatsoever. As long as you know how to read, you are good to go.
    This is certainly a positive thing, as it democratizes the access to information and to publishing.
    If you want to make a living online, however, it would be a good idea to spend some time learning the technical part. Start with HTML/CSS, and if you have time try learning JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.

    Over to the Readers

    What about you? What do you wish you knew when you started blogging?

    1. Putting advert which is difficult to differentiate ads and contents

    Publishers could not implement Google advertisements in a fashion that disguises the ads in any way. In an effort to preserve a great consumer experience, it is important for publishers to obviously distinguish Google advertisements from web site content.

    2. Placing adverts beneath a deceptive heading
    Publishers usually attempt to mislead customers by putting advertisements under irrelevant heading which increases probabilities of clicking advertisements, but by doing so they’re violating Adsense policies.

    3. Aligning pictures with Adsense ads
    Publishers might not try to associate particular images with the individual advertisements showing on their sites. Such an implementation could confuse users and lead invalid clicks.

    4. Ads under drop down menus
    In keeping with Google Adsense we can’t place advertisements beneath dropdown menus as it may lead unintended click.

    5.  Ads in Software
    Never place ads in Software, Google don’t allows it.

    6. Including Google ads in emails

    As already mentioned, Publishers might not implement Google ads in a way that disguises the ads in any manner or place link ads between external ads so they give the impression of being same. Because it will difficult to tell the hyperlinked content apart from the ad.

    8. Copyrighted Material
    AdSense publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content. Please see our DMCA policy for more information.

    9. Change the color of your Ads
    I highly advice that you change the title and description of your posts. You keep repeating the same words over and over. Your site looks like a spam from the outer space. Add a more relevant content that people will read.

    10. Google Advertising Cookie
    The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner's website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user's browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the publisher's site(s) and across the web.

    Submit a Complete Sitemap to google Webmasters (quick Indexing)

    Diposting oleh Admin

    Sitemaps, in simple English, are text files (see Sitemap) containing a list of all web pages that exist on your site. It is important that you create a comprehensive sitemap as it will help Google and other search engines crawl your site better and that might mean more traffic coming your way in the long run.

    The Problem with Blogger Sitemap Files

    Ideally, the sitemap file should contain all URLs of a site but if your blog is hosted on blogspot.com (or if you are using a self-hosted version of Blogger with a custom domain), you'll be surprised to know that the default sitemap file (see example Sitemap) contains only the 26 most recent pages of your blog.
    That's a bad thing because some of your older blog pages, that are missing from the system-generated sitemap file, may never get indexed in search engines. There's however a simple solution to fix this problem.

    Generate a Complete Sitemap for your Blogger Blog

    Step 1: If you haven't done this already, sign-in to your Google Webmasters account and add your blog. For details, check this video tutorial on how to add a blog to Google.

    Step 2: Once your blog is added to Google, open the Sitemap Generator and type the full address of your blogspot blog (or your self-hosted Blogger blog).

    submit sitemaps

    Step 3: What you get is list of sitemap files that contain each and every page of your blog. You now just have to ping Google, Yahoo and Bing to inform them about these XML sitemaps.
    As shown in the video screencast below, you need to manually add each of the sitemap files into your Google Webmaster Tools dashboard but for Bing or Yahoo, you can simply click blue hyperlinks and these search engines will automatically download the relevant sitemap files from your blogspot site.

    Once all the Sitemaps are added, your Google Dashboard should look something like this.

    Image ALT SEO tips for Blogger - Blogspot

    Diposting oleh Admin on Kamis, 27 Januari 2011

    Google has around 10 billion images in its search index and its growing at a fast rate. As of 2010, the Google image search is getting 1 billion page views per day. So these figures indicate the importance of the image SEO or the Search Engine Optimization of images in your blog. Usually bloggers are seen concentrating more on the normal search engine traffic that has the best conversion rates. But you can get more people to your website, just by taking an extra attention at the images posted inside your content. Here we have a few image SEO tips that you would find useful.

    Images SEO tips

    1. Name images correctly: Be it on Blogger or WordPress platform, the most important part of the image SEO is the naming. We usually process and upload mobile, camera or web images directly to our blog without caring about how it is named. Make sure that the image includes targeted keywords with _ or – separating words. The image format is not a problem, but it seems that .JPG is widely preferred. An image with the proper name will get more preference from search engines than a RAW image.

    2. Fill ALT and Captions: Alt tag means alternative tags. These tags are used by search engines to recognize images. A simple implementation of an ALT tab is given below.

    <img src=”http://www.yoursitename.com/images/image-seo.jpg” alt=”image SEO” />

    Here the text filed between alt=”" gives a rough idea of the image to the search engines and they will position it accordingly. Moreover, people using a text-only browser or a screen reader can easily understand the image details by reading these tags. If you are on Google Blogger platform, you have to add ALT tags manually after uploading images. It can be done from the the HTML editor after uploading the image. In WordPress you have options to add ALT tags right from the image uploader.

    3. Position the image inside or nearer to an article formatted within the SEO rules.

    4. Link to the image with anchor text as the required keyword.

    5. In WordPress, check your robots.txt file and make sure that your images are allowed to get indexed. If you are using Blogger, there is another step to make your images SEO friendly and available in the search engines. Many of the bloggers suing blogspot.com doesn’t know that their images are automatically uploaded to Google Picasa. Usually these images are private and held as unlisted. To make them public, go to any album on Picasa> Edit> album properties> Now select public and save. You can label each image in the album section for more search engine visibility.

    6. Edit and crop images to avoid duplicates: The search engines are now powerful than it was before. Google Image Search has several options that let you choose images based on color, type and other factors. Also there are some services like Google Goggles that let you search the web by taking a photo of an object. So that means, Google knows the properties of all existing images in its search index. So when you’re copying an image from Google search, crop it and add text and other details to make it stand-out from other copies.
    The above given are some of the best on-page image SEO techniques to get better rankings. However, the actual position of the images in search may vary depending upon the incoming links to page, website quality, Home page PageRank and many other factors. You can build external links by bookmarking images to Digg, Reddit, Mixx and other similar services.

    How to Hide or Remove Blogger Navbar

    Diposting oleh Admin

    How to hide and remove the Blogger navbar with simple CSS, How to Turn Off Blogger Navbar and why you should remove and disable the blogger navbar

    Bloggers automatically inserts a little navigation toolbar (called Blogger Navbar) in all pages of blogspot blogs. This Blogger Navbar gets tucked into the top of the browser window and is supposed to add new (?) functionality to each blog. Blogger Navbar is 50 pixels high and spreads across the entire width of the browser window.

    1. There are two buttons on the navbar that point to the Blogger Homepage. Too much of self-promotion.

    2. The NextBlog button takes visitors to another recently-updated randomly selected blog on blogspot. But what if clicking the NextBlog button takes my innocent readers to a blog with adult offensive content.

    3. The Search Blog Form is not integrated with my Adsense for search account. I want visitors to use my custom Google site search form that is monitized by Google Adsense.

    4. The existing Blogger Navbar colors do not gel with my custom blogger theme.

    5. The BlogThis! pop-up link is already availble when I enable Blogger Backlinks.

    To hide the Blogger Navbar, try any of these CSS techniques. [they should work with Blogger Beta or Blogger 3.0 as well

    Technique One: Insert (copy, paste) the following CSS code in your Blogger Template to disable the Blogger Navbar

    Technique Two: This is another simple way to remove the Blogger Navbar but it will not form valid HTML. Replace your &ltbody> tag with the following code and hide will hide the Blogger navbar.

    Technique Three: Similar to technique two for hiding the blogger navbar but doesn't form valid HTML. Replace your &ltbody> tag with the following code and hide will hide the Blogger navbar.

    <noembed>
</noembed>

    I use the first technique for this weblog as it results in well-formed HTML. Remember GoogleBot hates pages that are not constructed with well-formed HTML. But hiding the blogger navbar gives rise to another problem. You might notice some empty space in your webpages between the top edge of the browser window and your blog content. We will again employ a simple CSS tweak to remove the gap at the top.

    body
    {
    margin-top:0px;
    }

    If this doesn't remove the gap created with Blogger Navbar, try the following CSS hack

    body
    {
    margin-top:0px;
    position: relative;
    top: -50px;
    }

    Is removing the Blogger Navbar legal ?

    The Terms of Service for Blogspot.com do not mention anything about Blogger Navbar but it does state a word about the discontinued Blogger AdBar which was previously displayed on freely-hosted Blog*Spot blogs.
    By creating your BlogSpot Site, you agree that Pyra has the right to run such advertisements and promotions.

    You also agree that you will not attempt to block or otherwise interfere with advertisements displayed on your BlogSpot site via JavaScript or any other means. Doing so is grounds for immediate termination of service. The manner, mode and extent of advertising by Pyra on your BlogSpot Site is subject to change.
    Since it is not mentioned explicitly in the Terms of service, it remains doubtful if removing and hacking the Blogger navbar is any violation of the Blogger terms of service. Lets say we are not "removing the navbar" but only "hiding the navbar" or we could even re-position the navbar to the bottom of the blog. Get rid of the blogger nav bar.

    Seo on page for blogger blogs

    Diposting oleh Admin on Rabu, 26 Januari 2011

    Search engines plays an important role in bringing traffic to blogs including those hosted in Blogger . So the normal web pages should be fixed for errors and tweaked in such a way to drive more search engine traffic . These seo tactics can be divided into both on page and off page optimizations . Today I will be discussing about on page optimization techniques for users of Blogger platform .
    205 blogger seo Blogger seo (On page )
    1. Submit sitemap :Submit your sitemap to major major search engines like Google , Yahoo and MSN . Submission of sitemap enables the search engine to discover the internal pages of your blog . For Blogger blogs , the sitemap is their corresponding RSS feeds .For reference , I have written an article regarding the submission of Blogger sitemap in Google . You can submit your sitemaps to Yahoo here to MSN live here .

    2. Provide Meta tags :Meta tags are simple HTML codes inserted into a template for giving an idea about different parameters of a website, mainly for search engines . Many people says the meta tags are out of SEO focus from the last 2-3 years . But the case is different with Blogger blogs. Have a look at my blog description in Google , it is what I have given in my meta tags . Here there is no plugins and the meta elements should be manually filled for the whole website or if you plan for a single post .

    3 Optimize the post page tittle: Blogger post page titles are not formatted in way it should be . They are come along with original home page title and cause a potential flaw in the search engine positions . Check out this blog post to fix this problem ,

    4. Maintain the keyword density : Keep in mind that what you are posting about . Include the the necessary keywords along the article by maintaining the quality . For instance , here I have a title Blogger seo which is repeated two three times in the article without affecting the reader interest .But keep measures to avoid keyword stuffing for fooling search engines .

    5. Order your pages : Arrange you achieve a pages and posts .Give a access to all your posts from a single clickable text link , as per Google webmaster guidelines . Providing related posts and linking to older posts in new ones will also help to boost your serps.

    4. Remove label and place text links : The label pages in Blogger are automatically set nofollow by Google . So there is no seo value in keeping the labels in home page . Alternately , you can categorize your posts and include them in single post that can be fixed in homepage . For eg ; Instead of placing the label Blogger tricks and tips , I have written a main post contains all the similarly tagged posts and placed as a text link in my homepage .

    6. Use nofollow in suitable locations : Nofollow is an HTML attribute that instruct the search engine to follow a link or not . If it is applied , the targeting link won’t get value for that link in search results . You can use nofollow in download pages an when linking to your competitors or spam sites .

    7 Optimize images for search engine . Another source of search engine traffic is the image traffic . It is too important for an entertainment or celebrity site . Check out what you can do for image seo in Blogger .

    8 .Optimize the code : Optimize your Blogger template by removing unnecessary JavaScripts and CSS codes . This will improve your search engine ranking along with faster page load time .Also remove unnecessary external links.
